Message from the Interim Chair

Welcome to the Department of Health Management and Policy! We are excited for your interest to learn more about the great things Health Management and Policy offers. Our department is housed in the College of Health and Human Services.

Our mission is to “advance health and health systems by developing knowledge and future leaders in management, policy, and research for the benefit of all”. We have distinguished faculty, staff, students, and community partners that help us realize our vision through our teaching, research, and service. As a department, we work to strengthen and align the interests and goals of our student body with the broader needs of the community.

The Department of Health Management and Policy houses undergraduate and graduate programming. We offer several accredited programs and learning opportunities for students. We create engaging learning experiences for our students and design a robust curriculum that positions students in the jobs and careers they aspire to lead. Our programs are designed to foster self-discovery, collaborative learning, wellness, and service to the local community.

For prospective Undergraduates, we offer:

BS-HSM. Our Bachelor of Science in Health System Management (BS-HSM) program is available in both residential and distance education formats
Early Entry to the Master of Health Administration (MHA)
The Public Health and Health Systems Management Honors Program

For prospective Graduate students, we offer:

Our CAHME-accredited and nationally ranked Master of Health Administration (MHA) program
Master of Public Health (MPH) concentration in Health Policy
Dual Degrees in MHA/ MBA and MHA/MS in Health Informatics and Analytics
