APHI and Mecklenburg Public Health Launch CHAMPS.

CHAMPS (the Community HIV/AIDS Monitoring and Prevention System), a public facing dashboard, is now live!

Led by Department of Health Management and Policy Research Professor Dr. Patrick Robinson, CHAMPS is the product of a sustained collaboration among UNC Charlotte faculty and students associated with APHI (the UNC Charlotte Academy for Population Health Innovation), including Dr. Meagan Zarwell from the Department of Epidemiology and Community Health,  Mecklenburg County Public Health staff including Matthew Jenkins and Johnathan Wilson, and community members.

CHAMPS is a comprehensive source of information about the HIV epidemic in Mecklenburg County and resources to support community members, health care providers, public health professionals, and students. It also tracks advances made in ending the HIV epidemic (EHE). CHAMPS draws on a number of data sources to create near real-time visualizations that represent this information in a readily understandable manner.

CHAMPS is a living website, meaning the data are regularly updated.  Additional visualizations and resources will be added in coming weeks.

CHAMPS can be accessed by using this link: https://hivmeckco.org/.
