Biography:
Kate Burgess, originally from Hillsborough, North Carolina, graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2023, majoring in both Biology and Medical Anthropology. During her undergraduate career, Kate was captain of UNC-Chapel Hill’s Varsity Women’s Rowing team and executive board member of student-run organization Public Health 360. She was drawn to UNC Charlotte’s MHA program because of its CAHME-accreditation and its ability to provide large connection outlets while maintaining individualized investment in smaller student cohorts. After graduation, Kate accepted a position with Atrium Health in Patient Access. She hopes to pursue a career in executive management to develop healthcare access, quality, and impact from the inside.
In her free time, Kate enjoys reading, spending time with loved ones, and maintaining physical fitness.
