Marguerite Lamorey goes by Maggie Lamorey. She was born in India and grew up in Charlotte, NC before joining the Navy at the age of 18. She finished her active-duty service in 2016 and began her undergraduate degree. She graduated from ECU with a Bachelor’s in Film Production. Following her undergraduate graduation, she joined the Navy Reserves and completed a diploma at CPCC for Ophthalmic Medical Personnel. Maggie has clinical and admin healthcare experience by way of working as a certified ophthalmic assistant. Maggie chose to attend UNC Charlotte’s Master of Health Administration program due to it’s academic reputation, CAHME accreditation, and alignment with her overall healthcare career goals. She saw how this program gives opportunities to improve her knowledge in healthcare operations, policy, and leadership, as well as preparing her for larger responsibilities in healthcare. Her ultimate career goal, is to return to active-duty service and commission as a Naval Healthcare Administrator in the Navy Medical Service Corps. She is largely interested in using her degree, leadership experience, and military background to improve healthcare operations within military healthcare systems, support military personnel and their families, and overall ensure high-quality care of service members.
