Biography:
Carissa is from a small town in East Texas and graduated from Tulane University in December 2022 with a BSPH degree with minors in Gender and Sexuality Studies and Sociology. Passionate about increasing equity, accessibility, and quality in healthcare delivery, Carissa chose to pursue her MHA at UNC Charlotte to deepen her understanding of healthcare systems and gain the leadership skills necessary to help alleviate barriers to healthcare for marginalized communities. Carissa hopes to pursue a career in reproductive healthcare delivery with the goal of treating existing conditions and providing resources to support people’s agency in their reproductive health. She especially hopes to serve communities that cannot access safe, equitable reproductive care at all life stages.
